An artist must create.
Yakov Soifer’s talent for design emerged when he was still quite young. Yakov learned to draw and paint as a boy, experimenting with every artistic medium he encountered. Through sculpting, he developed his eye for space and shape.
Today, as a premier designer, Yakov uses his broad artistic talents to create living and working spaces that are both comfortable and functional.
“I love what I do,” Yakov says. “But mostly, I love making a difference in people’s lives. What a delightful feeling it is to know that people live or work in greater comfort because of my designs.”
Soifer Design Associates was built by word of mouth, one happy client at a time.
In 2006 Yakov joined a Brooklyn, NY, interior design firm as a draftsperson. He was soon promoted to space planner and later to project manager. His projects include custom homes, corporate offices, and healthcare facilities.
In 2009, Yakov launched Soifer Design Associates. Thanks to a constant stream of referrals, the firm has grown steadily. Yakov also collaborated with various architectural & engineering firms, where Yakov worked on large-scale projects, including custom homes, educational facilities, shopping centers, and more.
In 2016 Yakov joined a construction company catering to an upscale niche clientele as lead designer, where Yakov worked on large-scale projects, including custom homes, developments, and commercial spaces. He also oversaw and coordinated with the engineers collaborating on the structure and systems to be concealed within the design. He also managed other aspects of construction administration and technical issues in the field.
In addition to his design experience over the years, Yakov gained a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for structures and building systems. Giving him a unique perspective that he incorporates into his design process, striking a balance between design, function, and value.
